Happy Mother’s Day to all the lovely mothers out there! This includes the women who have reached back to help other’s children, the aunt’s and Big Sisters and the neighbors who are “others centered”. A heart-felt Thank You is in order :

I thought a good post for today would be centered around self. Today is Mother’s Day, but this is for you men too. And, yes, this is the very foundation to delivering superior customer service. Giving great customer service and being a great customer, both start and end with you. You could look at this as tips in personal development, as well. Either way, servicing you first, is what matters. How can you take care of someone else’s needs, if your own basic needs aren’t being met, right?

Here are 6 practices to make sure you are the best YOU possible:

1. Get enough good rest – 

This is said time and time again, and we all know it to be true. So why don’t we get the 7-8 hours of sleep that the experts say adults need each night? First of all, every adult is different. Personally, if I get more than 6 hours of deep sleep, one of two things are guaranteed to happen. For one, my body will want more sleep. Not because I didn’t get enough, but because the more I get, the more I want. Second, I will wake up with a ridiculous headache, mainly because I’m hungry. The ideal amount of deep sleep for me is 6 hours. It has been for years and continues to be perfect, for me, to this day. Read more
